Hazelnut perfection achieved. These are the classic Italian toasted hazelnuts that dreams are made of. With a deep, earthy taste and a tinge of nutty sweetness, these roasted Piemonte hazelnuts contain none of the bitterness or burned flavors you'll find in commercial versions. Their delicate crunch makes them perfect for sweet and savory uses: chop them up as a topping for yogurt or gelato; mix them into your favorite cookie or homemade granola recipe; toss them with salads or snack on them right out of the bag.
These Piemonte Hazelnuts come from Alta Langa, a section of the Piemonte region where cold nights and salty breeze allow the hazelnuts to mature slowly and balance the hazelnuts' sweet notes. Terra delle Nocciole, our hazelnut farmers in Cravanzana, care for about 10,000 hazelnut trees of Tonda Gentile Trilobata. Each tree produces only about 17 pounds of hazelnuts, at least 30% less than other varieties, which accounts for their intense flavor and high quantity of healthy fats.
Alta Langa hazelnuts are never picked from the tree. Mother Nature comes to the rescue indicating when the nuts reach the perfect ripeness. How? They simply drop off the trees! The hazelnuts are gathered from the ground, unshelled, dried, and finally roasted to enhance their rich, complex flavor and elegant aromas.
These are the same hazelnuts Marco Colzani uses to make his world-renowned Chocolate Hazelnut spread

Alta Langa Hazelnuts: Critics' Choice

“Unusually nuanced hazelnuts. The hazelnuts grown in Cravanzana, a tiny town tucked away in the mountainous Alta Langa region of Italy’s Piedmont, possess a remarkable depth of flavor."
The Wall Street Journal
"They’ll make an impression wherever you put them, whether in cookies, in tarts or directly in your mouth.”
