A fabulous Italian dinner, ready in just a few minutes. It's the perfect gift for someone who cannot live without pesto. Paired with the traditional pasta shape trenette, the pesto is made by the Pesto King himself, Roberto Panizza, in his workshop in Genova. It is made with incredibly good and traditional ingredients including garlic from Vessalico, Italian pine nuts, and DOP basil from Liguria. After you try this pesto, you may never be able to eat any other!  With this Pasta al Pesto gift box, making a glorious Genovese dinner seems stupidly simple. Yes, essentially all you have to do is mix the pesto into the hot pasta and top it with the nuttiest pinoli. But, there are a few tricks for pesto perfection that we'd like to share. This is how we do it:  (1) Cook the Trenette pasta al dente in a pot of boiling UNSALTED water. (2) Drain, saving some pasta water. (3) Scoop the pesto into a bowl with the pasta and mix well. (4) Add about 1 tablespoon of pasta water to the empty jar. (5) Close the lid, shake, then pour the contents of the jar into the pasta. (6) Stir vigorously until the pasta becomes creamy. (7) Top with pine nuts and serve.
