JUST HARVESTED IN MOLISE
Il Tratturello is the first 2019/2020 olio nuovo to arrive.
“THIS YEAR’S HARVEST WAS A TRIUMPH!”
Farmer Francesco Travaglini told us that this was one of those memorable harvest seasons boasting both superior olive quality and generous olive quantity.
Take our advice, as soon as you get your bottle of new harvest Il Tratturello extra virgin olive oil, open it up, pour some into a small glass, and stick your nose in. It might be the best thing you have smelled in a long time: an explosion of freshly cut grass.
The taste? It hits the palate with bold artichoke notes and soon evolves into a round and fruity body with gentle hints of unripe almonds. The intense and herbaceous flavor profile offers a delightful equilibrium between medium-strong bitterness and spiciness.
IT WAS MILLED 4 WEEKS AGO
Another reason why this vintage is such a triumph is because of the harvest. The scorching hot summer kept pests away from Francesco’s olive groves and this year’s olives were grown as cleanly as possible. Francesco’s farm is completely organic, but this year he didn’t even need to use organic farming methods to keep pesky insects away (i.e. no copper and no clay).
