“Italy’s economy has finally emerged from a bruising triple-dip recession,” at least according to this Financial Times article. Things are starting to turn around. Italy grew by 0.3% in 2015’s first quarter, the country’s greatest growth in three years! One analyst said, “this time it is for real” and jobs are opening up around the Boot despite superficial hardships, according to the article.
To prove just how much the economy is growing, the article quotes Dino Martelli who explains that things are going so well they have reached their maximum production point. In fact, we all see this in the USA; we cannot get enough Pasta Martelli. As the article says, “Dino Martelli, owner of an artisanal pasta maker… near Pisa, in Tuscany, says his US distributors are asking him to speed up deliveries, but he has to disappoint them because he is ‘at the peak of production.’” That’s us, Gustiamo, we are the US distributors for Martelli pasta!

We just got back from a visit to Italy, with 6 days in Tuscany. We toured Lari and visited the Martelli shop and met the family too! They were very impressed that we buy their pasta from Gustiamo – gave us Martelli aprons as a gift!
